Arriving by Car
Park And Ride

Consider using one of the five Park and Ride facilities surrounding the city in Cambridge. Which one is best for you will depend on where you are coming from. All buses from the Park and Ride stop at Drummer Street, a 10-minute walk to both Punting and Walking check-in stations.

All Park and Ride buses accept cash or card payments once stepping on. Oyster Card is not accepted.

City Centre Parking

Grand Arcade and Castle Hill Car Park is located close to the city centre and offers safe and secure parking options. You can find additional parking options by clicking here (Parking – Cambridge City Council).

It is important to keep in mind that traffic in Cambridge City Centre can be very congested, particularly on weekends. To ensure you arrive on time for your punting tour, please allow at least 1-2 hours extra for your journey to avoid any delays.

There are also two Pay and Display bays on Pound Hill and Chesterton Lane which are free after 5pm.

Arriving by Train
It’s an easy 35-minute walk to our punting check-in location. Simply walk straight along Station Road from the train station until you reach the traffic lights, then turn right onto Hills Road and continue walking straight into the city center. Our walking tour check-in location is just a 25-minute walk from the station.
Take a 15-minute bus ride for around £3 from the bus stop on the left side of the station. Board the U2 Universal or U1 Universal bus and get off at Silver Street, Queens’ College. From there, it’s a 2-minute walk to our punting check-in location and a 10-minute walk to our walking tour check-in location. You can pay for your bus ticket with cash or a credit card.
A taxi ride to either check-in location takes approximately 10 minutes and costs around £10. For your punting tour, ask the driver to drop you off at the Mathematical Bridge—the punting pier is right next to it. For your walking tour, ask to be dropped off at the Corpus Clock, King’s Parade. The taxi rank is located just outside the entrance of Cambridge Train Station.
Arriving by Coach
The nearest recommended coach drop-off point is on Queens’ Road, just a 5-minute walk to Scudamore’s Mill Lane Punting Station and a 15-minute walk to our walking tour meeting point. If your coach company drops off at Chesterton Lane, you will need to walk approximately 25 minutes to reach the punting station. Please note that all coach drop-off points are for passenger drop-off only, as there are no dedicated long-term coach parking facilities in Cambridge city center.
